Calligraphy

What does the group do?    This is a group in which everyone can work at their own pace to learn this beautiful art using materials supplied by, and some guidance from, the Convenor who is a student of Calligraphy.

Beginners are supplied with printed material showing them how to hold the pen, how to make the strokes correctly; from there they can go on to create letters and then words.

More advanced members can copy eg poems and learn to create illuminated letters using gilding.

Level of expertise the group is aimed at    Both beginners and those with some experience.

Meetings  1st Monday of each month, 2.00 - 4.00pm.

Venue  The group meets in a private home in Rustington.

Equipment needed   If you do not have your own pens and nibs then the Convenor can help you to obtain the right equipment.

Costs  £2.50 to £3 for a pen + nib from the tutor, if required.
