Storytelling
What does the group
do?
People have been
telling stories for as long as the human race has existed. Stories
have been told and shared in every culture and in every land - this
oral ancient tradition predates the written word.
Stories
are learnt image by image rather then word by word; they can and
have been told and retold many times, and often are changed and
adapted in the telling.
Members of this group
will have an interest in stories, folklore and legends, and possibly
even be encouraged to create new tales on their favorite subject.
Group's aim:
With the advent of modern technology this ancient
art form - could so easily be lost to future generations - our aim
is to help to keep alive and promote the magic in stories
Level of expertise the
group is aimed at
Beginners and members
who enjoy just listening to a good tale - stories only come alive
with a listener.
Meetings
2nd Tuesday of each month,
2 - 4pm (depending on length of stories).
Venue
The group meets at the Group Leader's home in Littlehampton.
Costs
Nominal amount for refreshments.
