What does the group
do? Walks in
varied countryside according to the published programme; see below.
Level of expertise the
group is aimed at
Members need to be reasonably fit
and able to negotiate obstacles like stiles.
What to wear &
bring
As the walks will go ahead unless extreme weather conditions are
forecast members need to have the appropriate clothing and
equipment. Ideally this should consist of the following:

Ankle supporting
footwear (preferably designated walking boots) |
Small rucksack |

Layers of warm
clothing including a fleece jacket |
1 litre of water |

Waterproof jacket |
Packed lunch |

Waterproof
over-trousers |
Hi energy food e.g.
Chocolate bar |

Hat and gloves |
Sun hat and sun
cream |

Walking poles |
Personal first aid
kit |
Meetings
Mondays
fortnightly, start times as in programme below.
Venue
Central meeting place at the Woodlands Centre at 10am in order to share
cars, although members who normally share cars are welcome to go
straight to the start of the walk.
