Having grown up in south London, I attended
Mayfield School in Putney, and then went to the Eastman Dental
Hospital to train as a Dental nurse, remaining there for three
years.
I then changed course working at “London
Airport” as a Ground hostess for the Savoy and Claridges hotel
group.
On my marriage to Robbie in 1964 I moved to
Hertfordshire where I lived for 38years.
After the death of my youngest son from
Cystic fibrosis I set up a Parent Support Group in Watford and
also became Chairman of the Herts and beds C.F.
trust, working as a volunteer for
over 25years. During this time I returned to dental nursing,
working in the Orthodontic dept. at Watford General Hospital
until I retired in 2003.
My main interest has always been all aspects
of the theatre, particularly in the amateur world. I joined
Watford Operatic Society in 1982 taking part in 17 shows until I
felt it more appropriate to move “back stage” and work there! I
was Chairman for several years and am now proud to be their Vice
President.
I was widowed in 1990, and after my
retirement I decided to move to the seaside, hence my arrival in
Rustington four years ago .I was pleased to see
that Rustington had a branch of U3A
as I had been in the Watford U3a for several years. I soon
joined the Gardening, Digital Camera and Art groups and I look
forward to serving as your Welcoming Officer.
I moved to the South Coast determined not to
get involved?!!!!!!
